Once again, Rebel Media has ventured into territory no liberal mainstream media outlet dare enter, and we applaud them. We give a particular nod of our caps to Faith Goldy, a regular correspondent with Rebel Media, who has committed to covering the latest news surrounding this tragedy in Ottawa, which left two young sisters dead, at the hands of their own brother, prompting outrage among citizens at the possibility of yet another honour killing in Ontario.
In the city's 21st homicide incident of the year, topping off the local death toll to 24, Nasiba A-Noor, 29, and Asma A-Noor, 32, were stabbed to death at a home on McCarthy Road near Paul Anka Drive at about 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16. Their brother, 29-year-old Musab A-Noor, was charged with one count of first-degree murder in Asma's death and one count of second-degree murder in Nasiba's death.
One of the sisters taught at a local Islamic school. The school denied Rebel Media's initial requests for comment. Ottawa Police were also contacted by Rebel, but stated via e-mail that they were unable to comment, due to the ongoing investigation. A mosque that has been reported to be heavily involved with the family, and where the sisters' funerals were held, also refused to comment on the case.
Unfortunately, those who did wish to speak about the case, provided no real information, instead giving their uninformed opinions regarding Rebel Media coverage, and questioning Faith's supposed audacity and outspokenness in assuming the murders were part of an honour killing. OCN would like to encourage anyone sharing these critics' opinions to look at the details of similar cases, such as the Shafia killings in Kingston, Ontario just a few years ago, and compare the two, and let us know if you still don't think the A-Noor sisters were taken from their community and loved ones in a barbaric custom unique to the religion of Islam and Muslim families.
Everyone is encouraged to get involved in the discussion at OttawaMurders.ca
OCN will continue to update our readers with continuing coverage of this case from various media sources, along with the coverage provided by Rebel Media.
